My wife says “I hate paper, give me digital everyday if it means not having to listen to stupid ass people” she was not referring to you being the stupid ass and she is not your Anne Marie. I can’t help but laugh at your Anne Marie having such a similar ring to one university president Ana Mari. Maybe a bit of comical Karma at work:). We both got a great laugh from your write up! Cheers Feb.1 to the digital world giving you a break. Go Cougs!

Great post Jim! So you must be that guy in the grocery store line who writes a paper check and slows everyone down. Hahaha! Seriously you should consider signing up for BofA online bill pay. It makes life so much easier.

Also wanted to say that you were awesome on 710 ESPN. Really miss your insightful commentary.

Thanks Jon, nice to hear from you. I don’t write checks anymore so at least I’ve made some “improvements.” Thanks for listening when I was at 710. You’re the first to ever tell me you liked my insightful commentary! And no doubt the last. Have a good weekend.

Hi Jim. Great hearing back from you thank you for the kind words. FYI, I’m one of those guys that got retired by my company earlier than I wanted in voluntarily. Moved from Seattle area to outside of Prosser in the hills. No traffic or rain! Just trying to scratch out time, enjoyment, and maybe a few dollars down the road hearing you on the podcast and look forward to staying in touch.

Sounds great Chris, like you, I don’t miss much about Seattle. Feel bad saying that because it’ll always be my hometown.

Great post Jim. I heard you and Puck discussing your application with Bend schools on the Podcast. I was laughing about comments where everybody has their faces in their phones. I wrote about that topic last month.

I will send you in a PM my piece. I hope you will enjoy my opinion piece.

Jim.You’re like a brother from another mother.I’m going to turn 67 in a few months and if I didn’t have the help of my wife and sons I would be in deep doo doo in today’s tech world.I will admit, without Google maps,it would be a hell of a lot more difficult to navigate directions when we had to write everything down on a notepad prior to going somewhere new,but I would trade just about all of that for the simpler days of childhood (yes I too have become that nostalgic old man)! I feel for you, keep carrying the torch;love watching you and Puck on Youtube.Go Cougs!

Hi Tracy, thanks for your comments here and for listening to Puck’s podcast. You’re right about Google Maps. But I’d still be fine with stopping by a 7-11 or mini-mart and asking for directions like we used to do. Go Cougs!

I would love a 6-digit code! I work for a federal contractor and ours are anywhere from 8 to 16, with capital letters and special characters, and they all have to be different and non-sequential. I *have* fully embraced digital banking and bill pay, though - it’s saved my ADHD self so much in late fees and actually depositing checks instead of carrying them around forever because the bank is closed whenever I remember to go. I’m about to turn 56, so definitely wasn’t raised with all of it (I also received an electric typewriter for HS graduation) but somehow I’m now tech support for my parents!

Hi MaryAnne, thanks for reading and for your comments. One time I was resetting my password and each time I tried to do it, it came back and told me it wasn’t strong enough. So I tried to make it stronger and it kept telling me it still wasn’t strong enough. So then I went with FuckMeDead with some dollar signs and other dumb stuff and it came back with SUCCESS! Crazy world. Have a nice weekend.

Love you Jim Moore! You're in my world now being in EdTech for the past, well, you know how many years. Yeah, tech skills are important. I used to develop standards and taught district people how to "do" technology. But you're 100% right, if student success is at your core then you're an ideal candidate. Ann Marie has a supervisor you know. Escalate and do it in person.

Hi Laurie, I love you too. I’ve been told I need to get some experience with kids before I can be a sub teacher in the latest email from someone who wasn’t Anne Marie. I told her I was still interested and we’ll see what that experience involves when she gets back to me.

Excellent. Maybe a different position will give you some experience. I whole heartedly believe every adult should spend some time in schools. It is a unique working environment and is eye opening at the same time. It also is one of the most important and rewarding careers ever! Good luck to you. I'm rooting for you.

Oh, Jim, there's so much I could say! I've been following you since your P.I. days. I loved how you made the Huskies crazy with your comments, and now you perfectly express my feelings about technology! (But I AM almost 88 years old, so there is that!)

To the Bend school system: you lost a good guy! Go Cougs.
